10 things I love right now & 10 things I'm looking forward to...

Every so often I like to do a post about 10 things
I love at the current time:
So here we go.

1. My hubby and Big boy Matty (of course)
I Love this picture of my boys :)
2. MY FAMILY~ mom, dad, sister, brothers, everyone
3.. GERBER TODDLER FOODS.
They make my life as a mommy that much easier and Matty loves them so its a win win.
4. RAIN
I LOVE when it rains here in AZ. Especially when its unexpected. It's just so beautiful and it smells good and makes the weather so nice. I LOVEit.
5. DISNEYLAND
Have I mentioned I'm going there next month (February, so this month)
and I can't wait?? Because if I did I'm telling you AGAIN!

6. Verizon Wireless
Now I have complained before about my hubby's job because of his hours but, I have realized in the past couple of months this company is pretty dang amazing to there employees. I can't specify why exactly but they have and keep helping our family and I am grateful that my husband has such a wonderful job with so many opportunities to move up in the company.

7. Blogger
As mad as I get sometimes because I'm not able to upload videos or even sometimes pictures. I freaking love to blog. I'm addicted. I never thought I would be a blogger, but ever since I had Matthew I can't stop. I love that I can basically have an open journal for people to read and my family gets updated on whats going on in our lives. Its pretty dang awesome. :)

8. FRIENDS
I miss my Shawna and am sad that she is moving even farther away from me but, I couldn't be happier for her and her new home. It's so beautiful.
Chelsea, I never get to see because our lives are too hectic and our schedules always conflict but I love you too.
Carrie: let's just say you are a lifesaver and some days I have NO idea what I would do without you.
9. My shows
Go ahead judge me. I really like
Pretty Little Liars and Teen Mom 2.
Ya that's right I LIKE them and I watch them EVERY week.

10.  Disney Movies.
Matthew loves them and that makes me love them that much more.

10 Things I'm looking forward to:

1. CALIFORNIA VACATION!!!
I am looking forward to this pretty much more than anything.

2. February 18.
Verizon is gonna make our little family very very happy

3. February 20
Mine and Berto's 4 year anniversary
Ya 4 flipping years! It's crazy and sometimes I can't believe it but its true!

4. My new bed
We're buying a king size bed this month and I can't wait!
Our queen just isn't doing it.

5. Valentine's Day
Because I have a Valentine :)

6. Matty turns 19 months on Feb 3.

7. March 2 is Berto's 27th birthday

8. March 18. Oh man I WISH I could say what is happening this day but I can't.
That being said, I am actually a little more excited for this day than I am for my vacation in a sad, strange way. I will definitely be blogging about this but y'all will have to wait because I can't disclose it now.

9. Matty turns 2 on July 3!! I can't believe he's gonna be 2. We're definitely having a cool party :)

10. I turn 24 on July 20. Who doesn't look forward to their own birthday?

We have a busy month ahead of us but I am looking forward to all of it and can't wait to see what life has in store for us. Good things are happening for us in 2011, I can feel it.
:)

How hard can it be??

THIS is the million dollar question I asked myself last night
when offering to CUT my sisters hair!
It was totally a joke. This is how the conversation went down:
Kinsey: I hate my hair. I really need to shower but I don't want to because it takes so long to wash my hair and brush through it.
Me: I can cut it for you!! How hard can it be? All I have to do is go straight across right?
K: Ya I guess but what if you mess it up and it looks really bad?
Me: Ok I'll make a deal with you. If I totally screw it up I will pay to have it fixed.
K: (said with much hesitation) Ok.... I guess. I still have to take a shower first because I'm gross
Me: Ok so go take a shower and I'll cut it.
About 20 minutes later.
Me: Okay lets do this. Do you have a comb?
K: No I don't own a comb. (WHAT? who doesn't own a comb?)
Me: K go get mine.

So that was it. I pulled her hair back and cut. 8 inches to start to get the length off.
After that there was NO turning back!
( I still can't believe she let me do it!)
I just went around the edges and evened it out. I must say that it doesn't look that bad.
It's a little uneven in places because let's face it I'm NOT a professional but its good for now.
And she can't complain that her hair is too long anymore!
It was fun except the part where I cut a small portion of my finger, That was NOT cool.

This is the first 8 inches

She's holding the first 8 inches and the pile on the floor is the rest that was cut off

Her hair flips weird but this is the end result!
I feel very accomplished :)

Sheer HEAVEN and worth EVERY penny!!!!

My hubby just bought me this beauty...

I'm in heaven! I no longer have to fight with my mop to get the stickiness out of the floor! The steam just takes it right up off the floor and POOF its gone!!
OMG its so amazing and totally worth EVERY penny!
Ya!

Giggles

Last weekend we bought Matty a new
movie :)

This one right here:
Finding Nemo
Matthew absolutely LOVES it. He didn't at first. I think
it was the whole fish thing he didn't like at first.
Anyway, there are two different parts in this movie that
Matty just giggles at. It is the cutest thing I've ever seen!
1. At the beginning when the kids are talking about touching the "butt" (boat)
when the little seahorse says he's H20 intolerant and sneezes. Apparently
that is VERY funny to Matthew.
2. And of course when Dory is speaking whale. (Who doesn't think that's hilarious?)

Seriously, so cute.
I wish I knew how to post videos on here because I would
record it and post it so people could see how funny it is.

I want one:

I've been reading about it and now I want one.
We'll see... hmmmmmmm

Also,
4 weeks!!!
Until I am in the beautiful California weather and heading to
the beach.
I can't wait to get out of Arizona for an entire week. Be away from
my job, just be with my family, RELAXING!
I can NOT contain my excitement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have nothing else to say.
No new pictures to post.
I am lame and haven't taken any.

I'm tired. I think I'll go take an afternoon nap
with my little man.
The end

Alfredo. It's a BIG deal!

I am so proud of myself!
In the past year I have come up with
2 different recipes for pasta sauces.
I now have a red sauce AND a white sauce!!

AND they are so yummy!
(if I do say so myself)

I made Alfredo for dinner tonight and it
turned out so good! I've always wanted
to be a good cook but let's face it...
I'm not.
I can bake. Tell me anything you want
that's sweet and I can bake it.
No problem
Ask me to cook something and its like
asking me to chop off one of my arms.
I suck at cooking. Which is why me having 2
recipes that are mine, from scratch is such a big deal!!

This was tonight's dinner:

Ya me!
Here's to a hopeful good rest of the week.
Happy Monday

6 weeks and counting!!!

In 6  weeks I will be heading here:

Yes, the GOLDEN state,
CALIFORNIA!!

The fam is going on vacation and let me just say I can NOT wait!!!!
Literally, if I could go NOW I would.  I NEED this vacation. I need
a break from my job, from life. Seriously, we haven't had a vacation
since July/August and it was only for a few days. This time around
we're going for a whole week. 7 days!

I am overly excited!!
Also while we are there....

This wonderful place.
THE Happiest Place on Earth.

We're going on Berto's birthday. He gets to celebrate
with Mickey :)
Were bringing my mom with us too. :)
(Not to the park, on vacation with us)
She's gonna watch Matty for us so that we can enjoy ourselves.
I refuse to take Matthew to Disneyland until he's like
3 or 4. I want him to enjoy it.
Thanks mom :)
Besides, she also gets to spend time with my grandma and my
grandma gets to spend time with Matty. Its a win, win, win situation.
(At least I think so)
I am super excited to drive my new baby Chandler (hehe)
to Cali. It's gonna be so comfortable and enjoyable!!
I seriously hope that the next 6 weeks go by
really really fast.
Here's to hopeful, good week because last
week was the week from hell. I NEED to find
a new job like ASAP...

I'm counting the days!

The car and the pediatrician

THE PEDIATRICIAN
Matthew had his 18 month appointment last Wednesday.
I absolutely LOVE his new pediatrician!!
She was so nice, answered ALL my questions, and
checked every concern I had.
Back in May when the new pediatrician took over at
the office I work at she told me that Matthew
did NOT need whole milk. (At the time he was
only 10 months old)
I thought that was really weird because I wanted
to know where he would be getting his calcium and vitamin D.
She just told me that he didn't need it.
Weird:
I tried giving it to him anyway but he just wouldn't
drink it. So I tried other things like pediasure and
he likes that but the bottles say 2 years and up.
Well, it turns out that the American Academy of Pediatrics
recommends whole milk until 12 months of age and
as long as they are growing normal to switch them to
a lower percent until age 2.
So Matthew is 18 months and basically since about
10 months of age he has not had milk.
So the result of this?
He's underweight!!!!

Not dangerously or anything like that but these are his stats:
Weight: 23.6lbs he's in the 10-25%
Height: 32 inches 25-50%
So he's tall and skinny.
So the plan now is to get him to drink whole milk
and pediasure to help him gain weight!!
I'm not going to lie, I am a little upset that my baby
is underweight because of WRONG information
given to me by someone I trusted.
Hence, the reason I am now seeing a different pediatrician.
All in all, I am super happy with the new pediatrician and
am glad I switched.

THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so we have been talking about needing to get a bigger
vehicle. My little Mazda 3 just wasn't cutting it for our family.
It was great when it was just me and Berto but when
we added Matty to our family the Mazda just does NOT
have the room. I had to sit with my knees in the dashboard
just so Matty had leg room. HORRIBLE!
So with that,
We went to Earnhardt's because Berto had
been looking at a certain Dodge Durango for
almost 2 weeks online. We had no expectations that we
would qualify for the car but we DID!!!!
So we are now the proud owners of
a 2004 Dodge Durango!!!!
I am in LOVE! It has leather seats, a DVD player, and TONS
of room!!
I could not be happier! The DVD player is a huge bonus
because Matthew no longer hates the car!
I love being able to see past all the big cars (since I am a big car)
I am so grateful!!
Okay so I am super weird and ifyou know my family at
all you know that we name our cars.
We were originally going for the entire cast of
That 70's show. We almost had everyone.
My Mazda was Fez....
Well I need a name for my Durango. My sister
mentioned the name Carlton (haha)
but I really want to name it Chandler (YES i love Friends)
So I think my new car's name is Chandler! (Haha)
(Don't judge my weirdness)
Here's my new baby!!

The One about the Closet.....

Ok for like 5 Months I've been saying that
I NEED to go through Matty's closet and
organize it/get rid of stuff....
Well I FINALLY did it! Threw away a big
black trash bag of junk and getting rid of 2 big bags
of clothes/toys!

YA! I feel so accomplished!

Here's the before:

OH its so bad! Yuck!

Stuff just kept stacking up

BUT NO MORE!!

Its pretty again! I'm so proud!

So much better than before. Still lots of stuff but he's too old for most of it.
I don't want to get rid of any of it because I do want another baby.
Just not yet.... so storage it is.

The One with the SHOES!!

These babies are the cutest things I've ever seen!
They are Matthew's NEW shoes and I LOVE them

The End.

The One about Christmas & New Years!!

Warning: PICTURE OVERLOAD!!!!

Christmas was a total BLAST this year! With Matthew being
old enough to open his own presents and see the joy
in his face when he did was just amazing!!
My entire family was over at some point in the day.
However, we were not all together at one time.
My brother Steven, my mom &dad, my grandma,
and sister Kinsey were at my house all day.
My  sister Aubrey and her husband Ben as well
as my brother Clifton and his wife Sylvia (and baby Brighton)
popped in at different times in the morning.
It was a lot of fun! Matthew got a whole bunch of really
cool, new toys. The biggest being a plastic slide!!
(the box says ages 2-6 years, but he is so ready for it!!)
He got tickle me Elmo.... So cute! (thanks grandma)
He got a couple of noise toys, which I would just
like to thank my brother Steven and sister Kinsey for.

Kinsey: Just wait til you have children....... Sweet revenge......
(she got him the most annoying singing car that NEVER STOPS!!!!)

and unfortunately the dang kid LOVES it. I may just lose my
sanity in 2011...
I was so grateful to spend the day with my family. I wish we could
get together more often!

Me and My Grandma Lorraine

Oh New Years...
How I wish I was cool enough to say I went to
some raging party and rang in the new year with a
BANG!
but, I did not.
We had no plans.
Zero, zip,zilch, nada, nothing.
I think we may just be the most boring people ever.....
sad.
Berto had to work til 8 so after we picked him up
we ate and then drove around aimlessly trying
to figure out what the heck we were going to
do. We came up with nothing.
I wanted to go to Tempe Town Lake and see
the fireworks, Berto didn't want to deal with the traffic.
I wanted to head up to the top of the airport parking
structure and watch the fireworks from up there
(since its pretty close to tempe)
Berto didn't want to drive over there.
So we ended up settling and deciding we would just
go home and spend another New Years home, on the
couch. BLAH
Thank goodness our friend Jaimie rescued us!
She invited us over to spend the New year with her and her family.
We had a lot of fun!
Thanks Jaimie!!
(at least I didn't miss New Years again....)
Refer back to last years new years post if you're curious....

As for New Years Resolutions,
I have none. I have never made any and still don't plan on it.
I don't like making promises that I know I won't keep.
Sure, there are things I would love to see happen
but I'm not going to force myself to do it because
of a list I made. No thanks, I don't need the pressure.

Apparently I attracted ALL the animals!!

Smoke from all the fireworks!

This one looks cool!

Matthew will be 18 months TOMORROW!!
I can't believe a year and a half ago I was blessed with
the best baby boy in the world! Time is going by way too fast!!!
We have an appt on Weds.

One thing I did do that I've been talking about for awhile is
switch pediatricians.
For those of you who actually read this and keep up I haven't
been happy with the one I work for . I don't agree with
how she treats Matty and I don't like the fact that I practically
have to get mad and tell her to treat my child before she does.
(She constantly says, "Let's wait and see if he gets better.")
WHAT?????
So yes, I have switched and our appt on Weds is with the new
pediatrician. I will blog all his stats and my opinion after.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
Goodbye 2010
Hello 2011!!!!

The hat and gloves are so darn cute! The smile was just the cherry on top!! :)

THE BIG SLIDE!!!
