It sucks too because the past 2 weeks have been great! The first week I was in California and I slept wonderful! And that was on an airbed! This past week I slept great. I didn't have to get up early to take Matthew to school because it was Spring Break.
It's now Sunday and school resumes tomorrow and my good old friend insomnia is back.
I can barely contain my excitement.
So, I blog to keep myself occupied and then I'll probably read my book.
California was so much fun! We didn't do a whole lot but it was so nice to get out of AZ for a few days and just relax.
We celebrated Berto's birthday by going to Outback steakhouse and then having lemon cake at Grandma's.
The next day Berto, Matthew, and I drove down to Disneyland. We had a blast. Lines weren't too terribly bad. We made it on every ride we wanted to, except Indiana jones because Matty isn't tall enough. We bought our very first Mickey Mouse pretzel. I've been going to Disneyland for the past 7 years religiously and I have NEVER gotten a Mickey pretzel!! I can't believe it! I, of course, got my churro. Disneyland has THE BEST churros.
Matty got to see a stormtrooper, Mary Poppins and Burt, Peter Pan, Princess Tiana, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger,Buzz Lightyear, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy. We didn't get pictures with most of them because the lines for the characters were ridiculous but at least he got to see them!
He was so brave going on Splash Mountain. He was nervous about every ride we got on but then after would tell me how much fun it was, with the exception of Splash Mountain. And I don't blame him. I didn't care for that ride when I was little either. Mostly because of getting wet, not the big drop.
After Disneyland, we drove over to Tustin and got Chinese food from our favorite restaurant while we were living there. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as I remembered it. Or maybe I was just too tired to enjoy it. I don't know.
By the time we got to the hotel that night we were all exhausted. Matty watched like two episodes of Kung fu panda and he passed out.
ENTER RANT....
The next morning, at like 6am, I get a text from my dad basically reprimanding me for all the things that went wrong during his so called visit at Christmas. I don't think I ever blogged about any of it but long story short....
He was supposed to visit at Christmas. He invited himself. He booked a hotel, drove from Portland to Rocklin, to Phoenix. He texts me Christmas Eve and says he WILL be at my house by 8am to see kids open gifts. (I made it very clear we would not wait for him because thats just mean to make kids wait on someone who always lets you down)
Christmas day comes and practically goes. At 8 PM he texts me and says he thinks he has the stomach flu and that he isn't going to make it. Duh, I kind of figured you weren't going to make it 12 hours before when you didn't show up.
3 or 4 days went by with no word from him. We even went as far as driving by the hotel he was staying at to see if his car was even there or if he was lying to us. His car was there parked in the parking lot. He just didn't have the courtesy to actually come see us or call us. (Now, you have to understand about 9 or 10 years ago I decided that I would no longer be the one to make contact. I have always been the one to call him and if I didn't I would never hear from him.) I decided I was done. I'm the child and he should be checking up on me and calling me.
Anyway, after those 3 or 4 days he finally texts me with some lame story about how he lost his debit card and doesn't have the money to get home. He asked if he can stay on my couch. At this point I am so fed up with my dad I really don't want anything to do with him and I certainly don't want him around my kids fooling with their emotions the way he did with me. So i lie and tell him my sister and brother in law are in town and they are staying with me so I have no room.
He continues with his story that he has no money and then proceeds to ask me for money to get home. Its like a week after Christmas and we have celebrated Christmas AND Kourtney's 2nd birthday you really think we have money to spare????!!!
I told him I didn't because that was the truth.
He texted me for a good solid hour asking me for different increments of money which I kept telling him I didn't have. A few hours later he miraculously finds his lost debit card and is on his way back to California.
I hadn't heard from him since that day until our second day at Disneyland at 6 am.
(sorry, that wasn't that short)
His text basically is trying to make me feel guilty for all HIS wrong doings.
Everything that happened or should I say didn't happen was all my fault. I humiliated him by denying him money, I didn't call to see how he was doing or ask to visit him at his hotel, oh and my favorite, he had to use the little money he had set aside for Steven and Kourtney to get back home. Wait, I thought you lost your card and thats why you couldn't get home. Its all a load of bull&#^$.
He saw that I was having a good time on vacation and thought he could ruin it by sending me a text that was supposed to make me feel like a bad person. It didn't work.
All it did was piss me off more than I already was with him. So I ignored it and went about my vacation as if nothing happened. I wasn't going to let him ruin my fun.
RANT OVER.....
Anywho, after the text, we all got up and got breakfast and headed out for our 2nd day of Disney fun at Disney's California Adventure.
We had an absolute blast.
The first ride we went on was the Grizzly River Run and we got completely soaked!! Poor Matty did not like that one!
By far, the coolest ride and my new favorite was the Radiator Springs Racers. This was the first time we had been back to California Adventure since they built Carsland. IT IS AMAZING! Like walking right into the movie!! The rides were pretty cool but the racer one was the best! Matty loved that one too.
We were going to stay for world of color but poor Berto had ginormous blisters on his toes, and my back hurt, and Matty was ready to pass out so we headed back early.
The rest of our vacation was very relaxing.
We went to the beach and Kourtney HATED it.
Matty found some cool rocks that we brought home for show and tell.
We bought a toddler air mattress for kourtney while we were there since we gave her port a crib to a friend. The thing is so cool because it's a mini air mattress with a ring around it to stop the child tom falling off. We decided to use this at home instead of using the air mattress we used her crib mattress. So this is how we are training her to stay in her bed and once were satisfied she's doing so well move her to the big bed with a guard rail.
And then we came home.
We've had a week of just rest and getting back into the groove of things.
Until this past Friday. Poor Kourtney had not been feeling well and when I googled her symptoms it came back that she could possibly have a UTI. So to be safe we took her to urgent care. They checked her urine and it came back clean. They sent us home.
The next day I got up around 8ish. Kourtney was up not long after I was and we started our regular morning routine. Get breakfast, change our clothes, etc.
Well everything started when I changed that poor girls diaper. She had absolute water diarrhea. Ok, nothing I haven't seen before. We've dealt with this plenty of times with Kourtney. It GOT WAY WAY WORSE!
Like nothing I've ever seen before. By 4 pm I had changed about 12 of the same water diapers. TWELVE!
Berto called the pediatrician and they called me back and said to take her to urgent care. Having worked for an urgent care I knew that if she needed an IV they would transport her to the ER and I would be forced to go by ambulance. I didn't want to go threw that so I skipped the urgent care and went straight to the ER.
They ordered bloodwork, another urine check, an x-ray of her stomach, and an IV.
The x-ray was first and she did NOT like that. It wasn't even hard but she didn't want anything to do with it.
By the time we were done, me and the x-ray tech were sweating from wrestling with her to stay still.
She cried the whole time. By the time we got back to our room she was still crying but she had NO tears. She was so dehydrated.
Thats when the Catheter for her urine came in. And then the IV.
It was horrible.
She finally got some fluids in her and she started pooping again, water. They were able to get a stool sample at least.
A few minutes later the doctor came back in and basically said there is nothing wrong.
How can there be nothing wrong when my baby can't stop pooping?!
He really didn't have an answer other than to wait for the stool sample results which take a couple days and to see a pediatric GI doctor.
VERY VERY disappointing.
Not that I want something to be wrong but I wanted something that was treatable not " I don't know"
We were sent home a little while later.
Today she has been much better. Still has diarrhea but she's taking fluids and eating and generally acting better.
She has a terrible rash from all the diarrhea though. Hopefully that will get better very soon.
So as of now I don't know whats wrong with Miss K.
Matty goes back to school tomorrow.
Berto is working lots of Overtime
and I'm just here. Not sleeping.
Thats all for now.
Sorry for the rant about my dad but I have to get it out somewhere and I don't have him as a friend on here so I don't have to worry about what I say.
