A little update: a birthday, Legoland, etc...

My last post was a smidge depressing...
I'm happy to say that I now KNOW I did the right thing for my sweet Bobbi. I miss her everyday but I realize now just how much she was suffering. I feel a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that I don't have to worry about Bobbi.

Moving on...
My birthday was last week.
I am now 25. Boo.
We didn't do much. My mom watched the kiddos and Berto took me to dinner and did a little shopping. He bought me a new computer!! SO excited about it! It's so wonderful to have a computer that works the way its supposed to!
We went to Bj's Brewery for dinner which was so yummy as always and then got caught in the monsoon on the way home. (THAT made my whole day! I LOVE rain!)
It was a pretty fantastic birthday. The best one I've had in a long time.... Probably since my 21st at Disneyland.  :)

My birthday was Friday and then Saturday we left for California. Berto came the whole week of my birthday to visit and we followed him back to California for a week to visit. It was SO nice to spend a whole 2 weeks with the hubby! We haven't spent that much time together since April before we moved back to AZ. I really hate our situation and can't wait for it to be over and have my hubby back FULL time!
On the bright side we get to see my Grandma more often. :)

Matthew has been acting out lately. Hitting the terrible twos a little late maybe? I don't know but my mom and I were talking and thought it would be a good idea for me and Berto to take Matty out and do something with just him. Give him ALL the attention. So we decided to take him to Legoland. We had never been and thought he would really like it. So Tuesday we drove down to Fallbrook, CA and stayed in a hotel overnight and went to Legoland Wednesday. Matty LOVED the hotel. He really enjoyed jumping between our bed and the pull out bed. (He doesn't get to jump on the bed at home so it was a real treat!)
Legoland was fun. Matty really liked it. But the best part are the water rides and we didn't know that, so we wore regular clothes when we really should have worn swimsuits. Our tickets came with a 2nd day free and we are going back in August to see Berto so we're going to take Matty again and wear swimsuits! It'll be a lot more fun.

Baby girl is growing like a weed!
She is officially crawling all over the place and getting into things.
She is the cutest little girl. SO happy all the time.

My mom found some baby pictures of me and it turns out Miss K is my mini me. No joke.
Check. it. out.
Me on the left and Miss K on the right..... Creepy. Just kidding. But the poor kid got my hair.... I hope it grows faster than mine does.....

And as always I LOVE how funny this kid is when he sleeps. The left he was dead alseep but would not let go of the tablet. Then about 20 minutes later we were listening to music and the song Tonight by Fun came on and he LOVES that song he woke up just enough to sing with it, gave this hilarious face, and went straight back to sleep when the song was over.

OH and now that Matty is completely potty trained we were concerned how he would do on a long car ride. We put a pull up on him just in case but he didn't need it! Made it all the way to California, throughout all of Legoland, and all the way home to AZ without one accident! He's a pro! So proud of my Big boy!!!

So thats it. Nothing exciting is going on. Just back home and hopefully going to be able to relax a little.
Til next time :)

In Memory of my sweet Bobbi

It's been a sad couple of weeks...
We had to put my sweet cat Bobbi to sleep. She was too sick and suffering. I just couldn't do anything for her.

I went to California about 3 weeks ago and Bobbi was fine. But when I got back I noticed she had lost a ton of weight and wasn't eating. I was worried but thought I would wait and see if maybe she just had a little bug or something. Well, she wasn't eating at all or drinking and then I noticed her urine was brown. So I took her to the vet this past Tuesday, Matty's birthday, and the doctor said without a urine sample or blood work she wouldn't be able to tell me what was wrong. Blood work is WAY too expensive and we tried urine but she didn't have any in her bladder. (Maybe because she hadn't drank anything... duh)
The doctor gave her an injection that would help her if she had a UTI or it would do nothing if she had something else. But she needed urine to be sure. So she sent me home with a syringe and told me to try and get some when she went.
It took a couple days but I finally got some urine and it was still brown so I took it straight to the vet. I have been preparing myself for bad news for a couple weeks but no matter how hard you prepare you never truly are.
My mom happened to ask how much it would be to put her to sleep if there was no chance of helping her and it was surprisingly affordable. (This was a major concern for me, that I would need to put her down and wouldn't be able to afford to)
After we left we waited, and waited, and waited. ALL day long.

I finally got the call from the vet that Bobbi's urine showed she definitely had a UTI but unfortunately she also had really high amounts of bilirubin. This isn't normal for cats at all. Not even a small amount is normal and she apparently had a lot. The doctor said with the amount of bilirubin she was sure there was something wrong with Bobbi's liver. It could be anything from just an infection from her not eating to liver disease to liver cancer. There was no way to tell without blood work. AND even with blood work there is no guarantee that she is treatable or curable.

After speaking with the doctor and my mom and Berto we all came to the conclusion that it was time to let Bobbi go. We all knew she was suffering. She didn't eat, she barely drank, she couldn't always make it to the litter box, she couldn't jump on anything anymore, and when she got up she was so slow and it just looked like she was hurting.

As much as I know it was the right thing to do I find myself wondering if I did the right thing. She was my oldest baby. She would have been 8 years old on July 26. She has been with me through EVERY major event in my life.
Junior and Senior year of high school, prom, my first apartment, getting married, Matthew, Kourtney, moving to California and back.... EVERYTHING.
It hard to imagine my life without her. We've had other pets but she was MY first pet. So it's harder to let go. I know she's just a cat but she was SO important to me.

Call me crazy, I don't really care but I am having her cremated and I am keeping her ashes. She will always be with me.
I found an urn I really like. It's a cat sleeping in a basket and I'm having it engraved to say:
Bobbi
07/26/04-07/09/12
If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.

The saying is so true. I loved my sweet Bobbi so much and if that was enough it would have saved her.

I miss my kitty and I always will.
We had a lot of really great years together.
I love you Bobbi :)

3 Years, 6 Months

No joke people.
My baby boy has gone from this sweet newborn baby
to a big 3 year old!! I can't believe how time flies! He just turned 3 this past Tuesday. He is so independent. He always want to do everything hinself. He learns everything so fast, it always amazes me how fast he picks things up.
We started potty training just last week and he's already a pro. Wearing big boy underwear out of the house without accidents. He tells us he has to go pee and we take him. Simple as that. I can't believe just how easy it has been. I'm kind of glad we waited a little longer because I think he picked it up easier. He was so ready.
The next big hurdle is getting him to speak more clearly. He knows what he wants and what he wants you to know and do but he has a hard time actually putting it into actual words. We're working on it.
He LOVES all things super heros. Spiderman, Batman, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and etc...
He also loves Pirates. He prefers Captain Hook and the Crocodile from Peter Pan over the good guys. I think its hilarious. :) OH and he does the funniest face when he tries to mimic the Crocodile because his eyes go up and down as he ticks like a clock. Matty tries to do the same thing. SO funny!
He loves the carousel at the mall and the Disney Store.(It sucks the only Disney store is at Chandler Mall though) He always asks to go there every time we go to the mall.
He LOVES to swim. Hopefully he'll be brave enough soon to swim without the water wings...
We seriously love this little boy and are so happy to have him in our lives!!

He's Spiderman, Captain America, AND Luke Skywalker!!

Miss Kourtney is officially 6 months old!!!

She is the sweetest, happiest baby ever! She is almost crawling.
She getting up on all fours and rocks back and forth.

She kind of flings herself forward and then gets back up to move
across the room. BUT, she gets across the room. I had  to take
her day crib bassinet out and move her to the bottom of the day
crib because she would get up on all fours and start rocking
and I was afraid she was going to rock herself right over the edge.
We finally got Baby K's crib bedding so she'll be moving to her
own room soon.

I'm seriously so in love. :)
Purple and animal print. SO excited for when her room is finished!

Kourtney is learning so fast! Not only is she almost crawling, she's also almost sitting!

It's crazy!! It's all happening so fast! She still doesn't want to eat solid food. So she's
killing us with the formula being so expensive but she's happy! She's getting so chunky!
I just love her cheeks and her fat thighs. We have a doctors appointment in a couple
weeks so we'll find out how much both kiddos weigh and how tall they are. I'm kind of excited! We are having Matthew's party on Saturday. Nothing big, just the family this year. I'll update about his party. Hopefully I'll remember to take pictures!
Anywho.... It's really late and I'm tired so here are some pics from the 4th of July and Kourtney's first carousel ride. I have other pics from Matthew's birthday I need to upload. Maybe when I do his birthday party post...
