A late night Post

Actually it's morning...
I can't sleep. What else is new?
I'm here at my Grandma's house, my last night here, and I'm sitting up on my air mattress doing my blog at 12:16AM.
Yep, it's called insomnia people. AND IT SUCKS!

We had a pretty relaxing week here in California. Just hung out at Grandma's mostly. I worked a bunch on my cross stitch which is actually coming along! Matty ran around and annoyed everyone like he does and Miss K is a pro at pulling herself up to stand on everything!!
Baby girl is growing up too fast!

Today Yesterday, we went to Underwood Family Farm out in Moorpark. It's near Camarillo where my Grandma Lois lived before she passed away. We have driven past that farm for the past 20 years maybe more and NEVER went in so we did. Matty saw a little cow train as we were passing it so we turned around so he could take a ride. He LOVED it. He also got to pick out his first pumpkin from the pumpkin patch which was so adorable.

I have a meeting with Matty's teacher at the preschool coming up this Monday and K's 9 month doctors appointment on Wednesday so I'll be posting again soon for updates on my little fatty cake and my stinky boy.

Til next time.

Preschool

Mr. Matthew had his speech evaluation this past Wednesday. Turns out he has a problem moving his tongue the way he needs to in order to pronounce words correctly. Normal 3 year olds should have a vocabulary list between 300-500 and Matty has about 150. So I was told he is definitely behind in his speech. Both the teacher and speech therapist told me he is above average in everything else and he is so polite and well behaved. They just loved him. So we were told he qualified for their preschool program which mean he gets the help he needs and its free! We don't have to pay for preschool!! That is some of the best news! (Other than Matty getting the help he needs)

I'm supposed to be contacted by someone at the school to set up his program and meet his teacher. From the paperwork I've read he's supposed to go 4 days a week for 2 and a half hours. I hope I'm right because that will be so great not only for him, but for me too. He'll get the interaction and help he needs and I'll get a 2 and a half hour break from him 4 days a week! Anyone who is a stay home mom I'm sure can sympathize with me in saying I need a break from my child.

Kourtney is a doll. She just started clapping which is of course the cutest thing ever!!
I really wish I could upload videos because she seriously is so cute.
She has been pulling herself up more often on the water bottle cases but then she gets stuck and can't figure out how to get down.
She LOVES balls. Thinks they are just the funniest things in the world.
I put her in the bath tub with Matthew the other night because I was being lazy and didn't want to do her separately and she LOVED it. Loved to splash and play with Matthew's toys. So Kourtney and Matthew have been bathing together because its easier and they love it.

Hoping to go to California next week to see Grandma and Berto one more time before Berto moves home! Seriously can't wait to have him back! We are almost done. Only about 3 weeks left!!!!!
Well that's it. Til something else happens!

BATH TIME!!

"MOMMY! PLEASE pick me up!!"

She got caught getting into things she's not supposed to and she just laughed at me! Stinker!

Updates....

I've been slacking again on this poor blog. Life gets in the way... ALL the time!

Nothing much has changes in our household. Berto is still traveling back and forth for work. We only have about a month left of that though and I can't wait for him to be home PERMANENTLY!

So in order to keep from rambling on about a million different things, I'm just going to update on each individual person in the family. Love it or hate it, that's whats happening. :)

Berto:

Like I mentioned before, he is still traveling back and forth from AZ to CA. Cant wait for that to be over with. Life is SO much better when he's around. He's just working like crazy. Nothing much new with him.

Me:

I'm going crazy with a 3 year old that is so desperate for attention he'll do anything (good or bad) to get it. I also have an 8 month who is getting into everything and growing like a weed! These 2 keep me so busy all the time. I have been working non-stop on that cross stitch adventure I started way back in like November. It's coming along ever so slowly. I recently broke my needle AND my hoop so I had to buy a new hoop online just so I could get a good quality one and I had to find another needle. Apparently I have super strength to break both in one day. That's all for me.

Matthew:

Matty probably has the most going on in his little life right now. He just went for a speech evaluation and we were told they would like to have him come back for a one on one evaluation with the speech therapist. (We already knew this was going to happen since he doesn't pronounce his words correctly) But, also while there he failed their vision test. They wouldn't continue to schedule the one on one until we took him to see an eye doctor. We took him and turns out he has an astigmatism which he needs glasses for. So my 3 year old has glasses now. Poor kid didn't have a chance between me and Berto. He goes back for his eval September 12. We are hoping he gets into this program not only so he gets the help he needs but also so he gets some social interaction with kids his own age. HE NEEDS IT SO BADLY!

My dad was also here for the past week and he took Matty fishing. We all went but Matty was the only one to catch a fish which was pretty exciting. It down poured on us for the first 45 minutes which was a little uncomfortable but once the rain let up it was pretty fun.

Kourtney:

Miss K just turned 8 months!! I know I've said it a billion times but I seriously can't believe how fast this year is going. Kourtney is 8 months old people!!
She is sitting by herself and goes into a sitting position from crawling. She eats like a pig. LOVES Vegetables. She is sleeping so much better in her crib. She wears 12 month clothing!! LOVES empty water bottles and anything that crinkles. I'm pretty sure she'll start pulling herself up any day now. We are still waiting for her to hold her own bottle, Lazy little girl. She will hold Matty's sippy cup when she gets a hold of it but she refuses to hold her own bottle. Life would be so much easier if she would. Last time I weighed her she was 17 lbs. This baby girl is chunky!! She still has no hair so no cute bows or anything. She's growing up so fast.

So that's it. We are boring.
I am looking forward to something every month that's left of the year.
October, Berto comes home
November, THANKSGIVING
December, CHRISTMAS!!!!!
I can't wait!

Til next time.
