Julie & Kinsey's DAY OF FUN!

Now say the title like Janice from Friends. haha.

I fail at blogging lately. I think its been almost 2 weeks since my last post....
I just haven't felt up to it lately.
So about 2 weeks ago my sister Kinsey came to hang out with me. It was just going
to be for the day and then it turned into an overnight thing.
We had BIG plans.
Charming Charlie
Barnes & Noble
Walmart
Target
Kohls
Big shopping plans.
Wash Kinsey's car
and build a fort ( yes I wanted to be 10 again and build a fort)

I can't even remember what time our day of fun started but I think it was close to lunch.
We went all over town. We listened to music and one of us (Kinsey) made a pretty racist
comment about a certain song. Unintentionally of course but seriously funny.
We had girl talk and poor Matthew was carted around with us. He's always such a good
boy.

By the time we were done with all our stores and window shopping it was almost 9pm. So
no way we would be able to wash Kinsey's car that late. We waited until the morning.
And by the time we finally got home and rested from our big day I was too exhausted to
build the fort. I was pooped. Fail.

So we went to bed and didn't even wash the car until like 2pm the next day. (The hottest part of the day)
Kinsey washed, I was the hose girl.
I thought it would be fun to let Matty run around in the water and play but he didn't like the idea.
He actually cried and was scared!! So we put him in his stroller and he watched from a distance.
By the time we were done I demanded that Kinsey buy new mats for her car because the 8 (yes her car had 8 mats in it) were filthy and disgusting and it ruined the cleanliness of it. So we were off to Walmart (after showering of course). She bought new mats and seat covers. It's like she has a new car. SO much nicer.
It was fun.
I told Kinsey that I needed to document our day of fun but I fail at picture taking and only got a few.
Mostly of Matthew and Kinsey and I forced Berto to take pics of me and Kinsey when he got home.

We played outside!!

Yes, that's right!! We played outside in the middle of May AND I actually
had to wear a jacket!! It was so nice the other day. Cloudy and raining. A
PERFECT day in my book. I should really be living in Oregon or Washington.
I would fit in just right there. My pasty, white skin can't take the Arizona sun.
Sorry Grandma, I know how much you love AZ but it is just not my state. :)

Matty LOVES to play outside but we don't do it very often because of the
weather. It was fun to watch him run around and enjoy himself.

He is getting so big.
I love that he wants to help with everything. I can ask him to bring me anything
and he knows exactly what I'm talking about. He must watch me like crazy to know
what I'm talking about without ever actually showing him.

Nothing is really new at the Serrano household at the moment. At least nothing
I want to discuss just yet.  Oh except I just got a iPhone and I am in love. I never
thought I would actually love the iPhone as much as I do. It's so cool.

That's all for now. Here's some pics from our outdoor playtime :)

OH and just because its so darn cute....
We were at the Disney store and I couldn't
resist putting this hat on Matty :)

He's a pirate!!

Meet Charlie

THIS,

Photobucket
is Charlie, our puppy. This is when we first got him.
We bought him in April and have kind of been
keeping him a secret.
Why?
Because we rent our house and we really didn't
want to pay a pet deposit.....
I know its horrible.
The reason we haven't said anything is because
we rent from a friend of a friend of mine and they are on
my facebook....
AND I had one of them as a reader on my blog but I
know she doesn't read it so I deleted her and here we are.

So Charlie, he is almost 4 months old. He was barely 2 and a half when
we got him. He's a pure Golden Retriever. He's going to be
HUGE. You should see the paws on this dog....
Let's just say I am so NOT a dog person.
He drives me absolutely nuts. It's like having two 2 year olds.
AHHHHHH. Most days I just want to pull my own hair out.
He is really a good dog. He's already potty trained completely
so that makes life easier. He's just a puppy. I told Berto that I
will probably like him better when he is old, fat, and lazy and leaves
me alone. :)
I think the worst part is that we bought him at the peak season
for Parvo. So because of this we can not take him
outside on walks or to Petsmart with us or anything until
he has all his shots done.
I think we have one more round.....
I think he hates being stuck inside ALL the time.
We let him out in the backyard to go potty and run a little
but its not the same as going for a walk.

The other thing I can't stand about him?
He bites and he scratches A LOT!
Poor Matty. He loves to play with Charlie but
Charlie doesn't understand that Matty is fragile.
So he has bitten his face, arms, feet, legs. Luckily
he has only drawn blood a couple times but that a few too many
for me. I HATE dogs that bite so I am being very hard on Charlie
so that he will stop.
His nails, well we just have to get them cut or filed everytime we
go to the vet. Last time they said they were at the right length
and this is what Charlie did to Matthew. I almost killed him....

Photobucket
See his face? He almost got his eyes and I would have killed him!!

I know he'll get better and that it just takes patience but
I was running thin on that with my 2 year old so I'm not sure I have
enough for this dog. BUT, we adopted him and I feel when you
adopt a pet it's like adopting a child. Would you get rid of a child?
No, because they learn to love you as their family. So I won't do that to
Charlie but I sure hope he grows up quickly and calms down.
( I am also hoping that will happen once we get him neutered)
So there you have it.
CHARLIE

See how much Charlie has grown in 2 months?? He is going to be ginormous!!!

Dear Blogger,

Dear Blogger,

I am extremely frustrated with you and the fact
that you have been "down" for the past 3 days.
You are sort of an obsession and I NEED
for you to start working normal again.
It would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Julie

PS: I know I had 2 specific topics I wanted to
write about but due to the lag in me being able
to blog I have forgotten.  You fail blogger, you fail.

Enjoy some pics of Matty :)

It Came, It Came, It Finally Came!!!!!

My blog book arrived today!
I LOVE it!
I chose the soft cover which is glossy.
And my pictures look so clear!!
I am so satisfied with this website I will surely
use it in years to come!
I Love the fact that I will have our entire
lives documented from now on in book form!
It's going to be so fun to look at these 10 years
from now and remember what we were doing.
I'm in love :)

Change is good, right?

I just want to say that I want a change of scenery. I'm so sick of desert and hotness. I'm sick of the ugly cacti (sorry to those who have a "thing" for it) and the lack of excitement.
In other words.... I'm sick of Arizona.
I used to think that I would never leave. That this is the place for me. Well my mind has changed.
I want to move out of this state more than ever.
I want to go somewhere that has a beach or a forest. I want something other than thousands and thousands of miles of DIRT.
I'm just tired of it here.
I NEED a fresh start. Somewhere new and different.
I have a lot of wants and needs. We'll see if I can actually fulfill any of them.

Happy Mother's Day!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day! Mine was okay... Berto had
to work, surprise surprise. He always works on days like these.
He did buy me an Orchid (my favorite)
I was okay with him not being here because we didn't have
any plans anyway.
Well it turned out to be kind of a craptastic day.

First, I decide to have Berto take me to Fry's before
he leaves for work so I can buy something for dinner.
I wanted to have steak and baked potatoes for dinner.
So, I buy the steak and skip the potatoes because
I have some at home.

4 hours later I am in the cupboard getting the potatoes
to put them in the oven and hey! guess what? They're bad....
They are REALLY bad. Not only were they growing roots or
whatever, there was also a slimy substance at the bottom of the crate
and oozing out of the bag.
GROSS. (excuse me while I gag and almost vomit)
Well, we are working off one car so I couldn't go to the
store, so no potatoes.
Ruined my whole dinner plan.
Second, after the potato disaster I am totally
bummed but decide to just throw a frozen pizza
in the oven for me and Matty.
While pulling said pizza out of the oven I grazed the top
and burned the crap out of my arm.
So now I have this wonderful burn that feels
like its on fire. Great
Third, my house is a disaster and I have NO motivation to
clean it.
It seriously looks like a tornado came through. It's bad.
So Happy Mother's Day to me.
I ruined my own dinner, burned myself, and now I have
to clean my house. I really know how to treat myself ;)
Here's to a better day next year.....

I did let Matty color a picture for me which I think is really cute.
And we went to a wedding yesterday and got some cute
family pictures.
Thanks to my sister, Kinsey, for my fabulous hair.
I felt so pretty.
Oh, and Berto took me to see Something Borrowed.
Loved it! Except for the stupid girls next to me that kept talking
and didn't turn their cell phone off (grrr) and everytime a cheesy
kiss scene came on they would say really loudly, "Uh I think I'm going to puke"
Really? Why did you come see a romantic comedy? Morons.
Those are the kind of people who should NEVER be allowed
to see movies in the theaters. Just saying.

Pictures!

SUCCESS!!

I have finally figured out how to do a collage for my pictures!!
Stinking Photobucket has a tool for collage making.
It upsets me a little that I spent SO much time google-ing
a free photo collage maker. Such is life.
These photos were taken by my friend.
when Matty was just 2 months old!
She's fantastic! I LOVE them.
(I NEED to get more family pictures done.....)
Anyway, Ya me!

GRRRR.

Okay, so I have been browsing the internet trying to find free collage makers.
I found one last night, Picasa2, (and its already loaded on  my computer) that I thought
was pretty cool. So I arrange the pics and even leave descriptions about the pictures.
I went to bed liking my new collage tool and was pretty excited about it.
***
9 hours later I get a phone call from my mom telling me there are no pics.
There is the description about the pictures but nothing else. What the heck?
I have no idea. I tried re-posting said collage but it doesn't stay.
I post it and save it and then as soon as I close the Picasa2 program it deletes
my blog picture. Whatever. Until I figure this out these are the pictures.

 Trying on hats at Target.

Matty & Mommy

The Bandade on his nose.....

Let's just say Matthew got into mommy's drink
after he was told no and got in a fight with
the straw....
The straw won. He has a nice battle scratch.

He's trying to ESCAPE!
We were at Kohl's and I was trying on
dresses(for a wedding I'm going to)
and Berto starts laughing from outside the
dressing room. I asked him what was so
funny and he told me to come out and look.
So I open the door and find this.
Apparently, we should strap him in!
He was trying to escape.
I, of course, had to be a mean mom
and document this funny looking boy.
haha.

Hopefully I'll figure out this collage thing.
It would be helpful.

Ecstatic!!

Yes, that's right! I am so so happy that I am getting my blog printed!!
Simple pleasures?
I just think it is SO awesome that you can blog all year long
and post pictures and then print it like an album.
Why is this so cool?
Well, for people like me I always take pictures but I never print them.
I forget.
Simple as that.
That being said, printing my blog is just so perfect because
not only are pretty much ALL  my pictures on my blog, but
full descriptions of everything we did for an entire year!
THE perfect family album.
So I ordered the first one from 2009-the end of 2010.
Then at the beginning of next year I will print 2011.

I did it here.
It only cost me $37 for like 108 pages.
Something like that. Either way that's a pretty
awesome deal to have ALL your memories printed.
I won't get it til the end of this month but I think
it'll be worth the wait.
I will blog about it when I get it :)

That's all for now.
Hope everyone is having a happy Tuesday.
