Meet Charlie

THIS,

Photobucket
is Charlie, our puppy. This is when we first got him.
We bought him in April and have kind of been
keeping him a secret.
Why?
Because we rent our house and we really didn't
want to pay a pet deposit.....
I know its horrible.
The reason we haven't said anything is because
we rent from a friend of a friend of mine and they are on
my facebook....
AND I had one of them as a reader on my blog but I
know she doesn't read it so I deleted her and here we are.

So Charlie, he is almost 4 months old. He was barely 2 and a half when
we got him. He's a pure Golden Retriever. He's going to be
HUGE. You should see the paws on this dog....
Let's just say I am so NOT a dog person.
He drives me absolutely nuts. It's like having two 2 year olds.
AHHHHHH. Most days I just want to pull my own hair out.
He is really a good dog. He's already potty trained completely
so that makes life easier. He's just a puppy. I told Berto that I
will probably like him better when he is old, fat, and lazy and leaves
me alone. :)
I think the worst part is that we bought him at the peak season
for Parvo. So because of this we can not take him
outside on walks or to Petsmart with us or anything until
he has all his shots done.
I think we have one more round.....
I think he hates being stuck inside ALL the time.
We let him out in the backyard to go potty and run a little
but its not the same as going for a walk.

The other thing I can't stand about him?
He bites and he scratches A LOT!
Poor Matty. He loves to play with Charlie but
Charlie doesn't understand that Matty is fragile.
So he has bitten his face, arms, feet, legs. Luckily
he has only drawn blood a couple times but that a few too many
for me. I HATE dogs that bite so I am being very hard on Charlie
so that he will stop.
His nails, well we just have to get them cut or filed everytime we
go to the vet. Last time they said they were at the right length
and this is what Charlie did to Matthew. I almost killed him....

See his face? He almost got his eyes and I would have killed him!!

I know he'll get better and that it just takes patience but
I was running thin on that with my 2 year old so I'm not sure I have
enough for this dog. BUT, we adopted him and I feel when you
adopt a pet it's like adopting a child. Would you get rid of a child?
No, because they learn to love you as their family. So I won't do that to
Charlie but I sure hope he grows up quickly and calms down.
( I am also hoping that will happen once we get him neutered)
So there you have it.
CHARLIE
