Catch up...... Summer, 6th birthday, 4th of July, birthday party, Grandma, Disneyland!!

Summer beginnings.
We tried out the pool a couple of times at the very beginning of the summer but with both kids not knowing how to swim and absolutely refusing to learn from me or Berto we kind of put the pool on the back burner. We're going to have to seriously invest in swim lessons next summer.

We celebrated Father's Day.....

Matthew turned 6 years old on July 3rd!
I can't believe how fast time flies. It doesn't seem normal for me to have a 6 year old!
We took him to Texas Roadhouse for his birthday so he could ride the saddle while they sang to him. He loved it.

We spent the 4th of July at our good friends, Rich and Roz's house. We had a blast like we always do and the kids love hanging out with their kids so its always a win win when we go there.

We did Matthew's birthday party on the 5th so that all his friends could make it. We had it at Chuck E. Cheese and he had so much fun. All but one showed up and we couldn't be more grateful for everyone because he had an absolute blast! He got to do the ticket machine since he was the birthday kid and there is only one 1000 ticket in that whole thing and he managed to get it! It was fun.

We spent the next couple weeks just laying low anxiously awaiting our vacation to California.
We went the weekend of my birthday. The first day we were heading to the beach when our A/C went out in the car. So we stopped by Sears and let them look and whatever they did it came back on and we went on our way to the beach. The kids had so much fun and it was such a beautiful day!

The next day we did our normal trip out to the Sam's Club to get Grandma stocked up on whatever she needs and naturally our A/C went out again but luckily it was a cold/rainy day so it wasn't urgent to get it fixed. We went to Black Angus that night to celebrate my birthday early and I got a free dessert cookie and it was so good!

The next day we took the kids to Disneyland! It started off good because our A/C came back on! Then We realized my mom forgot her handicap placard in the car so we totally used it at Disneyland to get better parking! ( I know we're going to hell)
Disneyland was miserable to say the least. Don't get me wrong we had a lot of fun but it was so humid there that the 85 degree weather felt more like 105 degree weather and we were dying! By the time we got to the restaurant at lunch time I was ready to give up and go home. Not even 4 hrs at the park and I was ready to give up. We sat at the restaurant for more than an hour just trying to cool down and also because Kourtney fell asleep and I wasn't about to wake her up.
When we did finally leave the restaurant we decided we had to at least take the kids to meet Minnie Mouse and after that we would decide what we were going to do. We managed to only stand in line for Minnie for 20 minutes which is unheard of! Then the clouds started to roll in so we decided we would hang in there a little longer and try and get more done. I took Kourtney to the coaster in Toon Town because she was tall enough for that and Berto took Matty to play around Toon Town because neither one of them wanted to go on it. She had a blast! Giggled the whole time and then didn't want to get off because she wanted to go again!
After that we hit It's a Small World when it started to sprinkle.....
After we got off that ride it started to rain harder. We decided to walk over to Space Mountain's gift shop to find Matthew's souvenir and that's when the sky just opened up. Absolute downpour. I was soaked but my head to my toes. My shoes were squishing.......
That's when I said I was done. People were running over people and hitting people in the face and head with umbrellas and I didn't want to deal with that. It was 7pm. I've never left Disney that early! It was an adventure, that's for sure.
We had to stop at Target on the way home to get the kids some dry clothes.

We left the next day, my 28th birthday.
My mom got me a cute little cake and Grandma got me donuts.
But then our friend Rich called and told us he saw on the news that a bridge between Quartzite and Desert Center collapsed. So we spent all morning watching the news for ideas of better ways to get home since the I-10 was closed in that area. That was the longest ride home. What normally take 6 hours took us almost 9. What a craptastic way to spend a birthday! Haha.

So now we're home and we took the car to Mazda first thing to fix the A/C that went out pretty much the second we got home. It was the blower motor thankfully covered under our warranty.
Matthew starts school on August 5 and I am probably more excited than him. We just did his school shopping which cost me almost $60! When did school get so expensive! It's a little ridiculous. It's gonna suck when Kourtney starts and I have two lists of school supplies!
Now I'm just relaxing and working on my cross stitch. Until next time!
