Last one until the next time I have to catch up....
JANUARY:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
We spent New years with Rich and Roz and their family. We had a blast. Laughing, talking, games, food, and always a good time!
HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY KOURTNEY!!!
I can't believe how fast time flies! I know I say it every year and I probably will. It just seems like yesterday she was this tiny baby and now she's FOUR!
Matthew went back to school this week and it has been nice having a break from him. He was in rare form this winter break and I was ready to strangle him! haha
He needs the structure of school and without it he is all over the place!
That's all for now!

Catch Up part three
I should mention November didn't suck completely....
Grandma came to visit for Thanksgiving and we had a good time. Missed the rest of the family but still had a good time.
DECEMBER:
December was spent trying to get out of the funk I was in over losing Indi so suddenly.
We took the kids to the Polar Express which was so much fun and very magical for the kids.
Kinsey and I took the kids to see Christmas lights.
Christmas was a little strange this year since my mom had to work. Everything with the family was done on Christmas Eve but Kinsey wasn't there or Aubrey or Clif. Half the family was missing. We didn't play cards.... It was just weird compared to what we normally do. It was still fun though.
Christmas Day was fun. The kids got everything they asked for. Santa was pretty cool this year.
I also got to see my Shawna while she was here visiting her family! Always so good to spend a little time and catch up with the people you love!
Catch up part two
November:
This was a really really hard month for me in particular.
My sweet Indi passed away very suddenly.
She was fine and then when I went to bed I was looking for her and found her under my bed but when I called out to her she didn't perk up like she always did. I touched her foot and she was solid. I told Berto I think something is wrong with her. He came over and pulled her out from under the bed and it was a very surreal sad moment. I watched him try to wake her up and it was just too late. She was gone.
I'm still in shock and it's been almost 2 months. I can't seem to get over it. I always said that when Indi went I would go right out and get another cat but I can't do it. A part of me is traumatized from finding her like that. I am still in shock. How could she just die like that? No warning.
I know there is probably never a warning but she was FINE the day before and she slept with me and we were playing with her and then the next day she's dead.
We went into panic mode because it was 11 at night and we didn't know what to do with her. We couldn't just throw her away like a piece of trash.
So we called around and Berto found a place that would cremate her for a reasonable price. The worst part was having to wrap her up in two trash bags so Berto could take her to the clinic.
HEART BREAKING.
I miss her everyday and I miss the unconditional love of my sweet Indi. She was so loved.
November SUCKED.

Catch up part one
So once again we play catch up.
SO OCTOBER:
Matthew got a black eye at school. Someone fell and it was a domino effect and he ended up with the black eye TWO days before his school pictures!! So his 1st grade photo has a nice memory...
We celebrated Halloween with our friends Rich and Roz. We got a ton of candy.
Kourtney was OF COURSE Elsa from Frozen and Matthew was Batman. They looked so cute and had so much fun!
That's pretty much it for October!

1st Grade, Cool Cat, Cute Kourtney pics, and black eyes....
Let's see..... since July.....
AUGUST:
Matthew started school. 1st GRADE! I can't believe it. I will probably say it every year multiple times but I can't believe how fast time flies! It seems like just yesterday we had this tiny baby unsure of everything we were doing and now we have this big, independent 6 year old!
August was mostly just getting back into the school routine. We met Matthew's teacher, Mrs. Plein, and we love her! She is the nicest person and truly cares about her kids. Matthew was the cool cat of the week and he LOVED that. Being the star of the class for the whole week. Kid was in heaven. He loves school! Every weekend he asks if he has school the next day and when I say no he gets all sad. I think its great!
SEPTEMBER:
There were a lot of Kourtney and mommy dates with Matthew being in school. She seems to enjoy the special attention because she really fights for it when Matthew is around. They really fight each other for it ESPECIALLY if daddy is around. So we spent time at the mall and rode the carousel, went shopping, you know the girl stuff.
I got my hair permed and it was a disaster! When will I learn to just leave my hair alone???
I thought it would be great to get loose curls and just get out of the shower and go but I think there was miscommunication between me and the lady that did the perm because I ended up with much tighter curls than I wanted. Then only half the perm took so she re-did that half and then the other half went flat but she didn't want to re-roll that half because it would ruin the integrity of my hair so now I'm stuck with uneven, frizzy, uncontrollable hair and I HATE IT.
There is nothing I can do except wait for it to grow out which is going to take forever because my hair doesn't grow!!!!!! Pony tails for months for me.......
We bought the kids their Halloween costumes. Ya in September... We've learned if you want a costume for a reasonable price you have to get them early otherwise they are all gone and when you do find one they are triple the price!
Matthew is going to be Batman and Kourtney is going to Elsa from Frozen.
Matthew was also the class dojo winner. It's a phone app that connects me to the teacher. She gives points for being on task or being quiet. It's positive reinforcement. Then whoever has the most points at the end of the week gets the class dojo trophy the following week and candy. We had a rough beginning with this but once he realized he gets rewarded for good behavior we haven't had any red/bad points (crosses fingers that I didn't just jinx it). Daddy told him if he won the trophy we would take him to buy a toy so we took him and he picked out an iron man lego set. He was so proud and so are we. He's been doing so great in school! Berto also started working from home at the end of this month and he is loving it, I'm loving it, and so are the kids! Kourtney is by far the most excited! She gets to spend all this extra time with daddy!
OCTOBER to present:
Here we are already in October. This year seems to have flown by. We took the kids mini golfing this past weekend. They had a ton of fun! I always have enjoyed mini golf. Other than being attacked by mosquitoes. Friday, Matthew got smacked into at school right under his eye and ended up with a black eye. It didn't dawn on me until Sunday night that picture day was Tuesday and he was going to have a black eye for that!!! Oh well. It'll be a fun story to tell. He's just a target for that kind of stuff. I just don't want people to think I beat him!
I finished my Pinocchio cross stitch!!!
Now I've started Cinderella!
That's all for now.
We are getting a new bed this weekend and I am SO SO SO SO excited!!!!!!!!!!
