75 degrees was the high and it was perfect. Pure bliss. I want to go back like yesterday!! It was a spur of the moment, "lets get out of town/celebrate Julie's birthday kind of thing."
We went with our good friends, Anna, Marco, and Gabe. It was an awesome weekend. I know Berto and I had a lot of fun at least. We spent the first night HERE. We had a minor room mishap but despite that it was still so beautiful! The atmosphere staying that close to the beach was amazing. This hotel is directly across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado. That place is so gorgeous!! I'm so grateful to have friends that wanted me to experience something like that for my birthday. I would definitely go back.
We hung out on the beach. Matty ate some sand, Gabe built sand castles with Anna, Berto watched Matty eat the sand, I tried to keep the sand off me, and Marco went diving for living things. He did find a crab and a starfish. It was pretty cool.
The next day we went on a 2 hour tour of San Diego Port. It was really relaxing and nice. It made me and Berto want to take a cruise. I think that's what we're gonna do for our next vacation. :)

These pics are a little out of order. The first ones are the views from the ship tour. These are from the day before when we went down to the beach and walked outside the Hotel Del Coronado.
Waiting for the guys to come back from parking the car so we can board out ship tour...
After the tour, we spent like 2 hours trying to find a hotel for the second night of our mini vacay. Apparently, we picked the wrong weekend to be in San Diego. Comic con was the same weekend and all the hotels were either completely booked or $200 for the craptastic rooms. We refused to pay that much for a nasty hotel room when we knew we could get a better rate somewhere else. We talked about it and decided we would spend the rest of the weekend up in LA or at least somewhere nearby. Originally the plan was Santa Monica but again all the hotels were booked or way too expensive. Finally Berto found a decent hotel in Anaheim (who would've thunk?)
So we stayed down the street from Disneyland. This was heart breaking to me that I was that close and wasn't actually going to the park. We talked about it but decided it would be completely pointless since both me and Anna are pregnant and wouldn't be able to ride anything or walk that much. Besides I really don't want to take Matty until he understands a little more.
We attempted to swim at the hotel but I was a baby and decided it was way too cold. Anna, Marco, and Gabe were troopers though.
Before we headed home the next day we all went over to Downtown Disney and walked around. Marco got his face painted, I bought a Mickey sticker for my car, and we bought the boys these really cool build your own cars. It was so cute seeing Matty's face light up with all the Disney/Mickey/Cars stuff around him.
I put Mickey ears on him because I knew they would look so cute but didn't get him any. I'm saving that for his actual first visit to Disneyland.

| Seriously, the Mickey ears were so cute. I can't wait to buy him his first pair! |
It was a much needed vacation and couldn't have come at a better time. Matty was so good with the long car ride and slept so well even though he shared the bed with us. It was so relaxing and I seriously can't wait to do it again!!!! Hopefully sooner than later!
This was probably the highlight of my whole vacation. The first night we were there I really wanted Spaghetti so we went to this little Italian restaurant down the street from our hotel. (It was terrible)
BUT, apparently Matty was exhausted from the drive and playing at the beach because he zonked out at the table. Completely fell asleep in the middle of a restaurant, in his chair. I couldn't stop laughing and I had to take a picture because this kid NEVER falls asleep in weird positions or places. And no I didn't put his head on the blanket. We brought the blanket because we don't have a jacket that fits Matty and I wanted to make sure he was warm. He put it under his head like that! Enjoy!
